Paws that left prints on our hearts
At Heartline Pet Care, we understand that pets are more than just animals; they are cherished family members who leave an indelible mark on our lives. This page is dedicated to honoring and remembering the beloved companions who have touched our hearts deeply.
Every pet we have had the privilege of knowing has brought immense joy and love into our lives. Each one possessed a unique soul and a distinct personality that enriched our days in countless ways. While we hold all our furry family members in equal regard, the memories created with each one are truly special.

Our cherished companion
Bailey
We rescued Bailey in January of 2013. He spent the first 10 years of his life under a porch with five other dogs. When his owner passed, his wife didn't want them, so a neighbor informed a rescue group. Bailey and his Mother ended up in Trumansburg, NY. We saw him on Pet Finder. We had been looking for Goldie. We fell in love the minute we saw him. He was an Aussie Shepherd, Goldie mix. He was 10 years old, all of his teeth we gone and he was terrified. It took almost two years for him to feel comfortable around us. He was such a good boy. He loved the cats and very seldom barked. He suffered with arthritis. We spoiled him for the last five years of his life. He wanted for nothing. We knew his time was coming to an end when he lost the use of his back legs and his bladder. He was in so much pain. We tried all we could but we knew it was time. On January 18, 2018 we held him as he went to sleep forever. It broke our hearts to let him go, but we knew he was free from pain. We love Bailey Boo, you were a good boy.

Our cherished companion
Nemo
Nemo was rescued from a hoarding situation when he was only 8 weeks old. I got him in Ottawa , when I lived there. He has been to 4 provinces, and traveled to 5 States. He was my constant companion before I moved to the US in 2006. He was born on September 21, 2003.He moved to New York with me in September of 2006. He was a big boy , weighing in at 22 pounds and from head to tail over 3 feet long. He was a cuddler, and loved to sit on my lap. He welcomed Bailey when we got him in 2013. They we great buddies. Nemo had diabetes and received insulin every day, but other than that he was very healthy and active. He lived a great long life . On August 21 of 2020, he passed at home peacefully. I was heartbroken that I wasn't there when he passed. I will always miss you my big buddy.

Our cherished companion Meeko
We were blessed with Meeko from a friend that was afraid she would be eaten by coyotes. Meeko was born on July 26,2014. She lived in the country and the coyotes were stealing cats from the neighborhood, so we took her home with us. From day one, Meeko had the loudest purr I have ever heard from a cat. She was just a little girl when we got her. She had the sweetest personality and although she never had kittens of her own, she was such a mother to the two feral kittens we rescued. She helped them socialize and was such a great mother figure to them. You were such a beautiful girl Meeko and you were Daddy's girl too. You cuddled up to him every night. In January of 2023, Meeko got very sick. She spent a week in the hospital and they said she had kidney disease. We had her on medications and she was doing well until March 24. She ballooned in size and was in great pain. We took her to the vet and when we took her out of her cage, she was so puffed up. The Vet said her kidneys had stopped functioning and we had to let her go. She looked at us, and made the sweetest sounding meow I ever heard. Then she closed her eyes and went to sleep. We miss you sweet angel.

The Rainbow Bridge
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill, is a lush, green meadow where time stands still
Where the friends of man and woman do run, when their time on earth is over and done.
For here between this world and the next, is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
One this golden land they wait and play, till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer in pain or in sadness, for here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed, their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without a care, until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back, then all of a sudden, one breaks free from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met, together again both person and pet.
So, they run to each other, these friends from long past, the time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever, then side-by-side, they cross over… together.
